Random Thoughts

Elizabeth had her two month exam a couple days ago and all is well. She is 10 lbs, 9 oz (45th percentile) and 22" (40th percentile). So size-wise, she's a tad below average, which is fine. She is smiling a lot, as you can tell by this picture.

Sam is still a character. He carries his little chair around everywhere, so he can stand on it and see what's going on in the adult world. It's also funny how he loves his cars. Every nap time or bedtime, he runs to his playroom to pick out a few cars to sleep with. He also still loves his sister.
We ran a 5k race last weekend. I pushed the kids in the beginning, but Melanie insisted on pushing them for most of the race. She said she could tell that I wanted to get the best time possible. I won't mention our times because we were slow. But I will say we started dead last, because somebody (not me) was late getting to the race. But we definitely didn't finish last. In fact, Melanie was a crowd favorite (the crowd consisted of about 20 volunteer workers). I think Melanie came in first or second ahead of the other double-stroller pushers. Sam had a good time on the putting green after the race. Check out the May photos to see him at work.

We don't have any pictures of this, but last Sunday we attended a block party. It was in a cul-de-sac, and independent Sam spent the first hour walking in and out of everybody's open garage. After that, he was jumping up and down, laughing, watching all the kids get squirted with a water cannon. But Sam didn't get the joke when he was squirted. The last part of the party, Sam conquered (on his own, at his own pace) his fear of the moon-bounce. We all had a good time and let Sam stay up an hour or two past his bedtime. (Another way to say this is that the adults were having such a good time, we lost track of time.)

Here's a picture of the "strawberry pizza". Since the local strawberry farm opened, we've had this about once a week for dinner. The season is just about over, so we may not have this for a while.
Here's a little video of Sam dancing to one of the popular songs on Nick Jr.
