Samuel Bennett Ribar

Samuel Bennett Ribar entered the world on April 11th, 5:10 PM at CMC-Pineville Hospital in North Carolina. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long at birth. His hair is reddish brown and his eyes are blue. He's healthy-- 10 fingers and 10 toes -- and we couldn't be happier. After being overdue 8 days, the progression of labor was very speedy (the doctor said it was the fastest she ever saw). The entire hospital staff was excellent and really helped us with everything before and after the birth, which is important because we felt like we knew nothing.

Every day with Sam is a new adventure. Just changing the first diaper was a huge ordeal. In fact, as of day 3 it still takes both of us to get the job done. But we are learning quickly. To help us along, Nan-nah and Nad-dah (aka Grandma and Grandpa Staab) are here to help us survive our first week at home with Sam. Sienna is very excited as well with the new addition. Although we can't really tell if she thinks Sam is her new little master, or if he's just the best toy that she's ever seen.
