Sam survived his first week without us. He went to Hilton for Vacation Bible School, and he did very well. He had a fun and educational time at VBS, and he got some good quality time with his grandparents. We talked to him every day on the phone, and he never complained or got home sick. Actually, because he has his dad's personality, it is more truthful to say he never
verbally complained or
verbally got home sick.
When we arrived after five days, we could tell that he had missed us a lot. Juliette had the funniest reaction, because in her young mind she probably thinks of Sam as one big toy that had disappeared. But when she saw he was still alive, she got a real big smile.

| Juliette's reaction to seeing her brother again was pure joy |
 |
| Mommy got an extra-long hug (daddy got a big hug too, but it wasn't caught on film) |
|
| Liz got a hug AND a kiss. They both really missed each other |
 |
| Here we are enjoying a nice Hilton Head evening after some ice cream |

| We recently visited Matt/Molly in Greenville, SC, for an overnight stay. The kids tried having a slumber party, but it didn't work out because the girls couldn't settle down. Poor Sam was disappointed. |
Everything here is going well. Juliette is talking more and more, and it's starting to make sense. Liz is zipping through swim lessons. And Sam is doing well with both his swim and tennis lessons.
Time flies.
Juliette turns 2 in 2 days! And school starts in less than a month!
Here's Juliette saying a few words
 |
| Juliette likes to start each day reading the Wall Street Journal |
 |
| Meanwhile, Liz gets stuck cleaning up the garage |
