Julie and Juliette...

... and Nunny and Charles

In early October, Dave's mother and sister came for a weekend visit. The kids loved seeing their Nunny and Aunt Julie. And Juliette got to meet them in person for the first time. Nunny (as usual) spent time baking with the kids. And Julie taught them a silly game that the Ribars invented in the 80s.  It was a short, yet fun-filled weekend, highlighted by the world famous Providence Pointe Fall Festival.

The following weekend Melanie's brother Charles dropped in for an overnight stay. Charles and his family live in Colorado, and we rarely get to see each other.  So it was great that he added us to his latest business/personal cross-country trip.  Uncle Charles made Liz's day by giving her his daughter Olivia's old Disney princess dresses.  And he made Sam's night by going to his swim class (this was the second week in a row that Sam had an audience at swim).

In other news, nothing much is going on.  Sam and Liz keep finding new ways to act silly.  And Juliette is discovering new facial expressions.

We picked out our pumpkin at the Hall Family Farm.  This is the same local farm where we get our strawberries in April, our corn, tomatoes, peaches and melons in June/July and it is one of our favorite spots in Ballantyne.  The farm is getting bigger every year, and this year they added an extremely challenging corn maze.  The average completion time is between 45 min and 2.5 hours. We have yet to try it.
Funny story as we were searching for our pumpkin.  Sam started running and shouted, "I want a really big pumpkin!"  Liz, following him, said in her little voice, "I want a small pumpkin."

Be sure to check the blog on Halloween. We'll have pictures of the kids' costumes and our jack-o'-lantern posted.
