Strawberry Beret

Here's a sneak preview of our Halloween costumes. Sam wanted to be Buzz Lightyear. Nunny must have spread the word throughout the entire Pittsburgh area, because a few weeks ago, we got a call informing us that our cousin Christine found a Buzz costume in Sam's size. Thank you Christine!


Liz's story is a little simpler. She is going to be Strawberry Shortcake, because well, she's a strawberry shortcake.

Sam had an exciting day today. This morning, his preschool had a Donuts with Dad day. He got to take his dad to school to meet his friends and teachers, and of course, have a donut. Then, since it was someone's birthday, he had a cupcake. After school, Melanie drove both kids to Greenville to sleep over at Uncle Matt, Aunt Molly, and Lillian's house. Upon arriving at the house, Aunt Molly was waiting with... cupcakes!
During his visit, Dave got some scoop on Sam's school. His best friend there is Luke (Sam now has 3 friends named Luke). And his lunchtime girlfriend is named Lindsey, although Sam thinks her name is Lizzie (see our previous blog post).

To top off Sam's big day, it was his turn to be the "star of the day" at school. That means he got to be first in line, pick out the games to play, and other honors. But most importantly, he got to wear a star sticker on his shirt.

As for Liz, she is still the cutest girl in the world. She's working on going downstairs by herself. She sits on the top step, grunts, pats the space beside her, then reaches out her hand. Then, after you sit next to her and hold her hand, she scoots down the stairs. As for entertainment, in addition to the Backyardigans (see video in prior post), she has a couple other favorite TV shows. Number one is Olivia, which she pronounces "la-la-la-la-la". Blue's Clues is also popular. She refers to it either as "boos coos" or by making the hand signal for put-it-in-the-notebook.
