Time to Ketchup

Two babies = twice as many photos + half as much free time = long time between blog posts.

So much to cover, but we'll keep it short.  We are all surviving.  The twins are sleeping much better.  But they have not yet slept through the night, because one of them (ahem, usually John) likes to wake everyone up at 2 AM.  But even a one- or two-time sleep interruption is ok with mom and dad -- much much better than that very rough first month-and-a-half.

You'll notice John has a red dot in the middle of his forehead.  That is a strawberry hemangioma.  It starts small at birth and grows over time, then recedes and usually disappears completely.  We think the growth has peaked, and we're hoping it starts to shrink soon.  It is not dangerous, but there was one day where he scratched it while napping and woke up in a pool of blood.  He is not in any pain, and Sam, Liz, and Juliette have done a great job of ignoring it.

As for Adam, at birth we said he was our crier and always needed to be held.  Well, at this stage, he cries just as much as John, and he doesn't need to be held all the time.  In other words, he is a fairly normal baby.  In fact, it seems like many times he wants to sleep through the night; but he never gets the chance because John isn't ready for that.

Adam is still our big boy.  And it's making it hard to dress the twins alike, because they are in different size clothes.  The really good news is that both twins are smiling a lot.  So it's very rewarding and keeps our spirits up on those tiresome days.

There are many new pictures in the September, October, November, and December folders.  Remember, you access the pictures at the top of the page.

John, 22 days old

Adam, 22 days old

Nunny's first day with the twins.  We make every new visitor hold both babies as an initiation.

The older kids got to make their own pizzas with Nunny

Liz and Juliette doing a great job of calming down the babies.  Sam, Liz, and Juliette all love their new brothers very much, and each one has been a giant help to us (at times).

Our Halloween pumpkin.  A pumpkin within a pumpkin.  The older kids picked the design and helped Dave carve it.

Liz (Princess Jasmine), Adam (Mustard), Juliette (Skye from Paw Patrol), John (Ketchup), Sam (Cars race car driver)

Dress as Your Favorite Book Character Day at school.  Who is Sam?  He is Rush Revere, of course.  His favorite character from his favorite book series.

Nadah with John (56 days old)

Proud sisters holding their 2-month old brothers

Spoiler alert.  This is the scene of our Christmas card photo, at Ballantyne Village.  This family photo, while nice, did not make the final cut.

Are we ready for Christmas?  Of course we are.
