Summer Days Drifting Away

Melanie took her Charlotte friend Linda to Atlanta for a girls weekend with her transplanted Wheeling friends Lynne, Kelly, and Nikki. Got that? They went to a painting class/activity, and everyone came home with a masterpiece.

After that, we went to Hilton Head for a little family vacation with Nanah and Nadah. The highlights were the big playground and tree house at Sea Pines, the beach (it must be noted that we were at the beach for a record 4 hours. People, that is amazing), the pool, Reagan the dog, and of course fun times with the grandparents.

Liz update: Her favorite word by far is still "daddy!". A distant second is "doggie". Her vocabulary also includes: mommy, Sam, hi, bye, Zack, quack, and cookie. She answers yes/no questions by nodding/shaking her head -- that's something Sam never really mastered. She points and grunts to tell us what she wants. And she loves carrying any of her blankets around for security. She like to brush her teeth all by herself. And she is down to one nap per day.

Sam update: His swimming lessons are finally paying off. He ramped up quickly in the past few weeks, and he can now swim (like a maniac) about 10-15 feet on his own. There is a video below of him swimming across Nadah/Nanah's pool. He also knows right and left. He starts preschool next week. He will go twice a week (9:30-1:30) which means mommy and Liz will get 2 days a week for bonding.
