It was a busy February for us, with a whole lot of driving.
The month started off with a disappointing Super Bowl, where the Steelers couldn't finish off a final drive.
Next up was Melanie's birthday. Not much driving on this day. In fact, Dave worked from home, and we celebrated with cupcakes after dinner.
Soon after that, we made the long drive to Pittsburgh to visit family and celebrate Dave's mom's birthday. In her honor, we had a a surprise lunch party with extended family. And Dave's parents got a special combined birthday present from their children -- a week long summer family vacation in Myrtle Beach! This will be the first time the Ribars have vacationed together in over 20 years.
Liz enjoyed the drive to Pittsburgh in her new comfy car seat. Yes, she's still a thumb-sucker. Give her a doll and her thumb, and she's set.
Here's Sam practicing his golf drive. Notice the follow through. And listen for Liz cheering at the end.
Our February ended with Dave doing his first NASCAR Racing Experience. He drove a real race car for 5 minutes around Charlotte Motor Speedway. He topped out at 150.92 mph, which is plenty fast, but still much slower than the pros. For everyone's safety, the cars were rigged to only go so fast.
That's enough of this driving theme. See you next month, where Liz turns 1!
(There are plenty of new photos in the February Photo Gallery.)
