Over the past week we've noticed Sam is more serious than he used to be (e.g. see photo to the right). He still laughs and giggles and lights up our life (e.g. see photo to the left), but there are times now when he gets this real serious look on his face. We think it's because he is trying to figure out what's going on in the world.
Let's see... what is new to Sam. He turns the light switch on and off while standing in his crib. He also initiates peek-a-boo with his blanket, opens drawers and pushes his toy cars around on the floor. He even "cruises" with his push toys or whatever else is around for support (for those not familiar, "cruising" is when a baby takes steps while holding onto something). He is just starting this, so it's only a few steps at a time before he goes into a split. Oh, and this was funny -- on our way home from Hilton Head we were listening to a live CD and the audience was clapping with the beat. Sam heard this and starting clapping too! Of course, he wasn't clapping to the song. He just figured everyone was clapping because it's a fun thing to do.
In my life, I turned 30. To celebrate we went to visit Na-nah and Na-dah in Hilton Head. Dave and grandpa golfed while grandma, Sam and I went to the outlets. Na-nah hasn't seen Sam since Christmas and her observation was that Sam's expressions mimics his father's. The first week in my 30s wasn't great because I had a cold and felt sick. Dave was also sick for a short time and even came home sick from work one afternoon (when I heard the garage door open I thought "oh no! he lost his job.") On the actual day of my birthday Dave, Sam and I went out for pizza and had cake at home.
Today, we had a strange happening on Daltrey Lane. We looked out our window and saw two huge black birds perched on our neighbor's house. The photos we have in the gallery don't do it justice. These were giant, creepy birds. We haven't ID'd them yet, but talking to neighbors we think they're some kind of vulture or buzzard.
We finally have two new videos up. Check them out as well some new February photos.
